CARE offers a variety of comprehensive services, including high-quality research opportunities for students, postdoc fellows, research fellows, and faculty, education initiatives and events, customized educational consulting services for individuals and organizations, and Community Belongingness surveys for participating higher education institutions and professional sport organizations.
Our signature learning component, Leadership for Equity and Athlete Development (LEAD) Collaborative, a vibrant community of education and sport leaders that collaborate with the purpose to rigorously and holistically prepare athletes for successful professional careers beyond athletics. We have developed an extensive curriculum of evidence-based materials to teach valuable skills and equity strategies, and to introduce participants to a world of opportunities.

LEAD Collaborative Partner Benefits
Learning Sessions
LEAD Collaborative provides in-person and virtual high-quality learning sessions for leaders—athletes, professionals, educators, executives, and the like—at an individual institution or organization. Each learning session provides leaders with firsthand experience and insider connections to equity strategies and resources. The importance of creating sites of humanness, caring, and belongingness are recurring themes throughout these sessions. Our team of equity-focused facilitators use evidence-based content and have extensive expertise delivering convenient, high-quality learning opportunities.
Special emphasis will be placed on practical lessons that leaders can learn and apply from timely case studies of real-world situations; and learning equity and inclusion strategies in increasingly diverse contexts. Initiatives and Events
CARE coordinates a number of initiatives and events throughout the year, both on campus and in the community. Example initiatives and events include NCAA and member institution rules and policies, mentoring programs, health wellness and fitness, conferencing and networking, community outreach and engagement, public lectures, and reading groups.
Community Belongingness Survey for Athletic Departments
The survey captures student athlete views regarding the athletic department and team climate, campus practices as experienced with faculty, staff and peers. The diverse student athlete population is at the center o the survey, and the tool is based on empirical studies of diverse student athlete bodies and the complexity of issues that range from student athlete mobility to intergroup relations. Community Belongingness Survey for Professional Sport Organizations
